What If I Have Deferred Action for Children Arrivals (DACA) status?

Good News! You can get coverage. Starting Nov 1, 2024, DACA recipients will be considered lawfully present for purposes of applying for marketplace coverage and may even qualify for financial help.

Will My Information be protected?

Yes! When you apply for coverage, your information is protected. Applying for health coverage does not allow other agencies such as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to get access to your personal information.

Refugee or Asylee

Individuals granted asylum or unable to return to their country of origin due to well founded fear of persecution are eligible to enroll in a marketplace health insurance plan and may qualify for financial assistance.

Who is Eligible?

The following immigration statuses are eligible to enroll in a marketplace health plan:

  • Lawfully Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders)
  • DACA recipients
  • Asylees
  • Refugees
  • Temporary Protected Status (TPS)
  • Lawful Temporary Residents under the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA)
  • Undocumented individuals granted withholding of deportation or removal status
  • Individuals on a work authorization visa
  • Non-Immigration statis not in violation, includes students on F1, U and V-visas, HB1 and J visas
