Small Business and nonprofit organizations that provide health insurance coverage to their employees through SHOP marketplace may qualify for a health care tax credit.

How Do I Qualify?

Your business may qualify for the small business healthcare tax credit if you:

  • Enroll in a group health insurance plan through SHOP marketplace
  • Have fewer than 25 full time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • Pay an average annual salary of less than $65,000 excluding wages for owner and owner’s spouse or family
  • Contributes at least 50% towards employee only health insurance premiums (35% for non-profit organizations)
